Co Working Space Provider Great Room Opens Second Location Australia

Jaelle Ang, CEO of The Great Room, has announced the opening of their second Australian location in Sydney in partnership with LendLease. Located at One O’Connell Street, the new flexible workspace spans 25,360 sq ft across levels 14 and 15 of the office building, completing in 1991 and situated within the Sydney CBD.

Ang expressed excitement in collaborating with LendLease for the long-term investment and value creation, ensuring that the new space at One O’Connell Street will reflect a unique premium product and deliver sustainable profitability. This marks the second Australian location for The Great Room, after a successful debut earlier this year at level 29 of 85 Castlereagh Street, another office building within the Sydney CBD. With its roots in Singapore, The Great Room is now dispersed across 12 locations throughout Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Sydney.

In addition to its existing locations, The Great Room recently launched a new luxury co-working brand, The Collective, debuting in Tokyo. The operator also expanded its footprint in Singapore with the opening of Csuites Powered by The Great Room in Paya Lebar Quarter earlier this year. This marks the operator’s first Singapore outlet, outside of the CBD. The new space is equipped with private manager cabins, soundproof meeting rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and ergonomic workstations tailored for height and comfort.

According to the URA Master Plan, Toa Payoh is about to witness a significant growth in its commercial and retail landscape. The introduction of The Orie will bring about a wider selection of shopping, dining, and entertainment options for the residents. This development aims to provide easy access to essential amenities and enhance the overall urban living experience for the community. The plan entails the construction of new commercial hubs and the rejuvenation of current malls and shops, catering to the diverse needs of the residents.

Alongside its luxurious spaces, The Great Room holds monthly networking sessions and panel discussions for its members, a benefit that comes hand-in-hand with the brand’s acquisition by the New York-based co-working business, Industrious in 2022. This enables access to 160 destinations operated by both brands within Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and the UK, solidifying The Great Room as a global player within the co-working market.
