CBRE, a global real estate services firm, has announced the appointment of Michael Tay as the deputy managing director of Singapore Advisory, effective Jan 1, 2025. This development comes as Tay’s career progression at CBRE, having spent almost two decades in the company’s office services team before taking up the leadership of the Singapore capital markets team in 2019. Tay will continue to report to Moray Armstrong, the managing director of Singapore Advisory.

The new role of deputy managing director is aimed at providing long-term leadership and direction for the Singapore advisory business. Tay will work closely with Armstrong to develop and execute strategies, evaluate investment opportunities, and drive business growth for CBRE in Singapore.

Armstrong acknowledges Tay’s contributions to the company, stating that with over 30 years of experience in the industry, Tay is one of the most distinguished real estate professionals and thought leaders in the Singapore market. Armstrong adds that Tay’s progress from office leasing to leadership roles across office services and capital markets has been the result of his hard work and dedication over the past 25 years.

Tay joined CBRE in the early 2000s and has since then worked with some of the biggest office building owners and prominent occupiers in Singapore. In 2019, he was appointed the leader of the Singapore capital markets team, which has played a significant role in concluding several high-profile transactions in recent years. Among them are the sale of One George Street, 16 Collyer Quay, and VisionCrest Commercial.

On his appointment, Tay expresses his gratitude for the trust and career growth opportunity given to him by the company. He also shares his pleasure in the 25 years he has spent at CBRE, working with and learning from some of the most reputable and skilled real estate professionals in Singapore. Tay looks forward to continuing his journey with CBRE and contributing to the company’s success in the future.
